House of Diamonds is proud to be a member of the Freedom Business Alliance (FBA), a global network of businesses working to end human trafficking by addressing its economic roots. Exploitation thrives in environments of poverty, inequality, and lack of opportunity — Freedom Businesses exist to disrupt those conditions by creating dignified, sustainable jobs for survivors and those at risk of exploitation.
Freedom Businesses are not a one-size-fits-all model. Some are small social enterprises; others are larger companies. They operate across diverse industries — from manufacturing and retail to hospitality and IT. Just as exploitation is found in nearly every sector and corner of the globe, Freedom Businesses reflect that same diversity.
At House of Diamonds, our story begins with Ida and Lila, two creative entrepreneurs passionate about empowering marginalized women in their community in East Java, Indonesia. They know firsthand the harsh realities of exploitation. Like tens of thousands of other Indonesian women, they have endured the grueling life of working in sweatshops: 13-hour days, unrealistic production quotas, verbal abuse, and mistreatment — day in and day out.
But Ida and Lila carried a dream: to lead other women out of these places of strife and into spaces of hope. They envisioned a business that wouldn’t just provide a paycheck, but one that would offer dignity, skills development, and the opportunity to thrive. House of Diamonds was born from that dream.
Through the art of textiles, House of Diamonds equips women with skills that allow them to support themselves and their families. More than that, it creates a healing-centered workplace — one where women are seen, heard, and valued not just for their labor, but for their humanity. We believe that business can be a place of restoration, where the scars of past exploitation are met with respect, growth, and creativity.
Being part of the Freedom Business Alliance connects us with like-minded businesses around the world who share this vision. Together, we collaborate, learn from and with each other, leverage our collective wisdom, and work towards a world free from exploitation. FBA strengthens this global network by offering resources, research, and a community of practice to help Freedom Businesses grow their impact and sustainability.
Freedom Businesses aren’t charity — they are a redefinition of what business can and should be. They tackle exploitation at its roots by offering real jobs, holistic support, and pathways to empowerment. Each piece created at House of Diamonds is not just a product; it’s a symbol of resilience and a testament to the belief that business can be a force for good.
When you support a Freedom Business like House of Diamonds, you’re not just making a purchase — you’re investing in freedom, dignity, and the flourishing of women and men who are rewriting their stories.
Because freedom should never be a privilege — it should be the standard.
